You probably won’t be able to comprehend this, but the other day I changed 17 light bulbs in one day. That’s right. 17!

Can you imagine?

That’s in addition to the 7 I changed last week.

And soon enough I will change another 18. This includes 4 “garage service duty” bulbs.

After those 18 I will still have another 15-20 to go.

We are talking about nearly 60 light bulbs in total.

My secret weapons? A bulb changing stick and a tube of light bulb grease.

Big house. Lots of light bulbs. Even when I am done with the 60 bulbs, there will still be some that are unchanged. For example, there are probably 50 fluorescent tubes in the basement. Those won't be changed. And there is a vanity fixture that has 8 globe-style bulbs that won't be changed, since I'd like to eventually redo that bathroom and won't likely choose a similar fixture.

"The other day ... in one day" is redundant.

Yeah, I was never good at math. How much is seventeen?

There aren't 50 fluorescent tubes in an airplane hangar.

You're going to get skin cancer.

No it isn't. "The other day" provides a reference to how long ago the event occurred. I could have said "last year . . . in one day."

Also, " ... " is not appropriate. The correct punctuation is " . . . " - note the spaces.

Yes, it is redundant. "The other day" tells that it happened on some other day than this, but it also indicates that you did it in a day. "In one day" is redundant. You replaced 70 in a single day. You have and will replace others on other days.

The periods in a ellipsis needn't be spaced. The Chicago Manual says to space them, but other authorities say spaced ellipses look silly.

No. See . . .

That’s the Unicode character for an ellipsis. Note the spacing.

typewriting is not typesetting

It's the same as double spaces after periods. Meant for typewriting, not modern set type and type faces with designed letter spacing and kerning hints.

Wrong. The individual components of the ellipsis mark are elipsi.
