Ridiculous Absurdity - On 5/24 I Weighed 412 Pounds, Today I Weight 462 Pounds (UNOFFICIAL)

I suppose some of you qunts will think I ate an extra 10,294 calories per day on top of my BMR of 2,400 calories per day for a total of 12,694 calories per day, but the reality is that I didn't.

Yes I was not on plan, but I might have averaged 4,000 calories per day. And, yes, somehow I have (UNOFICIALLY) gained 50 pounds in 17 days.

My metabolism is a mess.

The only way you'll lose that weight is be being left on and island and being airdropped healthy food.

This is a battle you will have to wage for the rest of your life so pick yourself up climb back up into the wagon and continue on your journey like you were before.

There Is No Easy Way, seems to me you're always looking for an easy way but there isn't any.

You need to count calories constantly never letting up and it's a maximum of 1800 calories a day and you will lose the weight.

I am back on track today after being on vacation. It is just ridiculous to me that I can't "let go" for a couple weeks without gaining 50 pounds.

And please remember you are not a loser, you are not losing this battle, you will only lose when you give up.

I have diabetes and thankfully it's not so severe as to where I have to shoot insulin but I do have to take Metformin everyday so in a way I too am on a diet.

Last time I had my A1C checked it was 6.7 so I am doing well in that regard and I could stand to lose about 15 to 20 pounds to get at my optimal weight but then I am 75 years old.

Twice a year I allow myself to do what I want to do and eat anything I want to eat and that is the day before the day of and the day after the 4th of July and that time. Between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.

During those feast days I allow myself to do and have anything I want but only then and never for more than 10 days out of every year.

What I would suggest if I were you is to pick out one day a month were you can have and do anything you want but keep it to only one day one 24 hour period.

Yep, you are right. Every single person on Earth requires exactly 3,500 calories to gain or lose a pound. Not one calorie more or one calorie less.

I suspect over the next week I will lose at least 20-30 pounds if history is a guide. Maybe more.

And there is some good to come out of that weight gain you've learned that you can't go off the tracks that long anymore.

Absolutely, if you work at it and don't wander off the reservation.

That's the thing.  You can't really take cheat days when trying to lose weight.  One day can erase two weeks of work easily.

You can't loose 30 lbs in a week. You've already lost your main water weight.

What you've done is full up depleted fat cells with fresh fat. So now you'll have to work (or diet over time)  to take it  back off at about 3500 calories per lb.

Was the 2 week binge worth it?

The 3,500 calorie per pound is a myth.

I did not eat 13,000 calories a day every day for 17 days, which is what would have had to happen according to the 3,500 calorie rule.

You can also go an put my weight, height, and age into an online calculator to get my supposed BMR. It will say something like 4,000 calories a day. That too is wrong. When I had my BMR actually measured it was 2,400.

The 3,500 Calorie per pound is a fact. It's not the caloric intake to get a lb, it's the Caloric output in energy to burn one off.

So you have to burn off more calories to lose a pound than the calories required to add a pound?

That's some magic fuqing thermodynamics there, mother fuqer.

The 3,500 calorie rule is a myth. But I suppose you know more than the professionals at my medically supervised weight loss program.

You could take one day every couple months but that's it.

And if all you get is one day why waste your time and take it?

4,000 calories for 17 days doesn't equal 50 pounds.

Apparently it does. Even if I am off by a large margin - and I am not - even 6,000 calories per day should not equal 50 pounds. The 3,500 rule says I ate 13,000 calories a day every day for 17 days. This simply did not happen nor did anything close to this happen.

So much of it is MENTAL too and I think Spanky agrees?  So making a lifestyle change is important.  Cheat days just encourage failure.

In any case though you do have to give Spanky credit for what he accomplished so far.  So many people would have said what he did already would be impossible for him a couple years ago and he did it.
