Should cruise shps be allowed back in the US?

I think at this point if you voluntarily leave on a cruise you should be subject to a full 21 day quarantine before being released on US soil.  It is just crazy to me that people are still goign on cruises.  Even if they are not going anywhere hit hard yet, jsut the realities of cruises make it highly likely that they will get sick.

Really all these cruises ought to be cancelled!

This will likely generate a shytstorm over there if they do not end up deleting it right away.

Don't go on cruises people

Are you people kidding?  Do not go on any cruise!  Even if it is not to an area which is experiencing an outbreak just the nature of the cruises makes it far more likely that infection will spread!  In my opinion anyone going on a cruise now should be subject to a full 21 day quarantine before being allowed back in their home country.  Further I think all cruises should be canceled.
If the greedy company tells you they won't refund your money just tell them you are going straight to the media and your local government agencies.  They will fold!

Re: Should cruise shps be allowed back in the US?

Not really. You people go on these cruises, get infected, and then spread the infection to everyone else! It is ridiculous that the government has not cancelled every single one of these cruises already. I mean, honestly, what are you people thinking? You are going to sit with thousands of other people from all over the world in a tight space?

It's likely a lot of the infections we are seeing right now are from the Diamond Princess fiasco.

Should you really be allowed to just go home, spread it to your kids and then your kids spread it to all the other kids at the school and now the whole town is infected and people are dying all because you wanted to go on a cruise in the middle of an outbreak! It's stupid and it is selfish.

I'm not really trolling but being brutally honest.

Tell me I'm not right about this.  These people are idiots and/or selfish jerks!

You and I we disagree on a lot of things but on this we are in total agreement.  I wouldn't go on a cruise right now if they gave it to me free.

My hope is this corona virus shyt will simply dissolve away and end up being a big nothing burger but being in my mid 70's I am treating it very carefully.  I am not hiding under a rock but just using common sense and avoiding crowds and people when I can.

I think the corona virus will dissolve and be nothing, it is something but we are not looking at the flu epidemic of 1918 to 1920 but why take a chance if you don't have to?

We have food to eat comfortably for three months.

We have paper towels to last three years and enough toilet paper to last into the next millennium.  Five unopened tubes of toothpaste and 15 lbs of coffee.

For fresh produce we have a friend that owns a produce distribution company and we can get whatever we want from him.  I am also not against taking a little ride into the country to purchase some fresh produce when it comes around.

All you gotta do to be 90% successful at avoiding the corona virus is avoid people and not go to work.  I don't work so I should be good.

I wouldn't go on a cruise if you paid me $10,000 to do it.  Even if it were to Hawaii and filled with 1,000 supermodels and no other men besides myself! lol

What gets me about these people wanting to go on the cruises is how selfish it all seems.  They are putting their entire family and community at increased risk.  It seems the height of entitlement.

Are the girls all horny and looking for sex?......

I've been on cruises and in my opinion the quality has declined over the years.  30 years ago cruises were great but today they just load a thousand tons of bodies..... not worth the money anymore.

Re: Should cruise shps be allowed back in the US?

Many U.S. citizens who go on cruises do not depart from the U.S.  So we must do a quarantine for anyone returning to the U.S. and close down the Southern border to achieve these goals.  I'm glad to see Au #3 is finally in complete agreement with GEOTUS Trump.

Re: Should cruise shps be allowed back in the US?

One way this probably spreads is by a passenger from a previous trip giving it to the staff.  The staff then spread it to other staff members until it gets to someone in the food preparation department.  Then the food staff give it to all the new passengers on subsequent cruises.

Also there was speculation in China that it could be spread from shared common sewer pipes at apartments and such.  This is probably a valid concern for a cruise ship.

Bottom line: cruises should NOT be happening now.

You can board a cruise ship with:

* proof that you have had Covid-19

or

* proof of vaccination

Cruise ships need to be redesigned for hygiene.

Cruise ships are really just big, floating, mega hotels.  There is no way we would get near one these days, although we have friends who have booked a cruise next year.

That said, we are avoiding all travel and hotel stays for now.  Why risk it?

The last cruise I was on was 1999 and a total letdown.  Quality was nowhere near what we enjoyed on our first cruise all they did was pack more people onboard.

If you have seen one Caribbean shythole you have seen them all.

We did a Hawaii cruise in 2016, and it sure was different than the ones I have done before.  Smoking on your private deck?  All the literature says OK, but once aboard, it's nono  You have to smoke at the (expensive) bar.  To get on board, you have to go through airport security- every fuqing time.  Are they protecting you from smuggled guns?  No, they're checking you for LIQUOR.  You can't cut into their take at the bar.  And PACKED!  They sure pack those ships nowadays.

And, if I were single, there were mighty slim pickings.  THAT demographic has changed a lot.
