Bullshyt.  One does not get to and stay at 600 lbs by slightly overeating.  Play with various online weight maintenance calculators.  The few that I used predicted that a 500 pounder needs to eat 4500 calories per day to maintain his weight (they won't let you enter 600 lbs ).

You are packing away 5000+ calories daily, son

Those calculators are inaccurate for people outside of normal weight ranges. The approach those calculators use is based on 80 year old formulas.

Calories don’t scale to weight. The bigger you are the less calories you need per unit of weight. A cat weighs 10 pounds and needs 400 calories a day to support that weight.  Clearly a 180 pound man does not need 7200 calories a day. This is a well-established scientific fact. In addition, newer studies have shown that people who were heavy and then lose weight don’t burn as many calories as their always normal counterparts. They have to eat 25% less calories to maintain the same weight.

I have known a few people who were over 400 lbs.  All of them ate food all the time- junk food, fatty food, anything but healthy food.  Get into work stuffing themselves with fast food for breakfast, eat a big lunch, eat candy and chips all throughout the day, slam sodas all day, eat a dinner that's big enough for two grown men.  It was disgusting gluttony.  One does not get that fat by eating moderate portions, or even indulging a little on a daily basis.  One gets to 400 lbs (much less 600 lbs ) by grossly overeating all the time.  You're in denial, fat man.

I agree that one *gets* that way by eating a lot. But you have to eat a lot less to maintain the same weight as you get bigger.

I eat under 3500 calories the vast majority of days.

How many calories do you drink on top of the 3500 you eat?

No excuses. Just facts. Why is it important to you that I am fat due to eating 6,500 calories per day instead of 3,500 per day?

I think we know the answer.

Why would a 600 pound man be so sensitive about his eating habits?

BTW: Fiona the baby hippo now outweighs you at 610...I assume.

The answer is you eat more calories than you burn.
